At "Foresight Learning Center" we believe that early childhood education can provide children substantial advantages for growth, happiness and success, both in school and throughout life. February-Healthy Bodies, Dear Hearts The five senses. Nutrition/Foods: food pyramid, meal planning. Teeth/Dental Hygiene: parts of the tooth, brushing, flossing, the results of good dental hygiene. The organs: heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, brain, and how they work. The skeleton inside you: basic bones and what they do. Habits that keep us healthy: benefits of exercise, rest, eliminating germs, and healthy eating. Valentines Day activities and celebration. Shadows & Light: Ground Hog Day. March-Our Town My hometown: City, State and Country. Types of transportation: Land, sea, air. History of transportation. Community Helpers: health professionals, police and firemen, mail carriers, shopkeepers, and librarians Safety: stranger awareness, traffic signs, wearing seat belts and bike helmets, fire safety. Our parents work, jobs and careers. Ireland's holiday: St. Patrick's Day. April-Our World Earth's environments & eco-systems with focus on the ocean, rain forests & our local forest. Birds: characteristics and migration. Food chains: food webs, the sun's energy. Resource conservation: air, water, land, trees, animals. Recycling: reduce, reuse, recycle and up-cycle. Eggs: exploration, experiments and hunt. Dinosaurs!
