Program Details
At "Foresight Learning Center" we
believe that early childhood education
can provide children "substantial
advantages for growth", happiness and
success, both in school and "throughout
life". Our "Primary Goal" is to help the
children in our program fulfill their
"natural potential" and enjoy these
advantages.
Integrating Both Traditional &
Alternative Educational Systems
Assessment
Foresight Learning Center uses both formal and informal
assessment approaches to evaluate children's learning and
development. Assessments are discussed with families and
results are used to benefit children through informed
decisions regarding teaching methods and programming of
the child’s developmental path. All assessment procedures
are conducted with strict confidentiality.
Discipline Techniques
Teachers facilitate the development of self-control in children
by using positive guidance techniques such as modeling,
encouraging expected behavior, constant engagement with
each individual, redirecting children to more acceptable
activity, and setting clear limits. Teachers' expectations
match, and respect, childrens' developing capabilities with
regard to self-control. Conflict resolution techniques are used
to teach children how to solve problems and conflicts with
others. Our goal is to help children become independent,
and to learn to solve their problems creatively.
Community Relationships
Foresight Learning Center has established, and maintains,
many productive relationships with community organizations
and individuals. The resources provided by these
relationships have a direct value to the children, who enjoy a
wide spectrum of specialized services and support. We are
pleased to have active relationships with; Flagstaff Unified
School District, Northern Arizona University, United Way,
First-Things-First, Navajo Nation, AzEIP, the Blake Foundation,
CCRR, DES and others.
Program History
The Foresight Learning Program was established in 1993 to
provide innovative, meaningful educational experiences for
children and their families. Integrating both traditional and
alternative educational systems, we developed a unique
program that continues to provide a nurturing, healthy,
engaging environment for children and adapting in an ever-
changing world.

We participate in
Quality First
Quality First is a signature program of First
Things First that partners with childcare and
preschool providers to improve the quality
of early learning across Arizona. Quality First
works with us to make quality improvements
that research has proven to help children
thrive. Through Quality First, we will build on
the strengths of our early learning program
and seek out improvements we can
implement to do even better.
Private School Review
Private School Review focuses exclusively on
helping families learn about private schools,
their benefits, and the application process.
The site can be particularly helpful for
families who are moving and need to
evaluate several potential schools, or for
parents who are exploring different pre-K
educational options for their child.
